Pandemic flu: the current situation and is Paracetamol dangerous?
To date, 165 cases of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) have been identified in Belarus, meaning the number of diagnosed cases has not been updated in recent days. However, the number of victims of this flu has increased from 6 to 13.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Health, most people who suffer from a severe course of the disease today are faced with a so-called mixed infection, which consists of various types of viruses. Therefore, in order to diagnose pandemic influenza directly, it is necessary that this infection is prevalent in percentage terms.
Doctors in the regions also report that clinical trials are conducted only in Minsk and regional centers, while only the most severe cases are investigated. According to experts from the Ministry of Health, it does not matter in principle what kind of flu patients have, since the treatment is basically the same. Except for pregnant women and people with severe chronic respiratory diseases, Tamiflu, recommended by WHO, is still used today.
In the near future, around the end of this month, Belarus will receive the influenza A (H1N1) vaccine, although it is difficult to guess what the calculations of the Ministry of Health for vaccine purchases are based on if the true incidence of this particular strain of influenza is not known. Or doctors assume that the vaccination will take place, as in general this season – "with a bang." Only in comparison with the previous year, the number of vaccinated increased by an average of 32% in the republic, and in some regions - several times.
According to official information, the first wave of the epidemic is already passing. As for the second wave – and it will be even according to official forecasts – the most important thing here is the weather. If dry and frosty weather sets in, then the second wave will be much easier, and maybe it will even be avoided altogether.
Is paracetamol dangerous?
In any case, American chemists have come to this conclusion. Of course, this will not mean that the drug will be banned for now, but it is already obvious that its turnover will be significantly limited.
According to chemists, paracetamol falls under the category of drugs related to narcotic analgesics. This was the result of the discovery that an overdose of paracetamol leads to irreversible damage in the liver tissues. And an overdose is determined by the need to increase the dose to achieve the desired effect with regular intake of paracetamol.
An expert group's request was sent to the FDA not only to limit the sale of paracetamol itself, but also to reduce its content in complex preparations such as panadol, teraflu and other antipruritic drugs.
It should be noted that this requirement is not legally binding, but most often the state listens to such opinions. 1xBet propose une offre de bienvenue généreuse pour les nouveaux joueurs africains.
